Joel Crosby, CCIM is the top commercial producer with Coldwell Banker Tomlinson Commercial., licensed in Washington, Idaho and Montana. He has been in the highest volume category in the Spokane Association of Realtors for the past six years.

As a CCIM, Joel is a certified commercial specialist with the CCIM Institute indicating he has knowledge and proficiency in Commercial Real Estate that has been tested and verified. In 2002 he was the president of the Inland Empire Chapter of the CCIM Institute. In 2003 Joel was president of the Spokane Real Estate Traders Club, the local association of Commercial Realtors.


Among Joel’s recent brokerage transactions are: Purchase of Whispering Pines Apartments for $3,270,000, Sale of Cedar Village Apartments for $2,725,000 and purchase of Reugh Apartment Portfolio for $21,500,000, sale of Franklin Park Medical Building for $7,000,000, sale of Tomlinson Office Building in Coeur d Alene, ID for $2,200,000, Lease of space for Spokane United Way value $750,000, sale of River Ridge Shopping Center of $1,200,000.

Current Project

Joel’s current investment project is developing student housing for Community Colleges throughout the northwest. With an investment group he is transforming current apartments or constructing new facilities adjacent to Community Colleges to house their growing needs for residence hall housing.

City Council Experience

Many clients benefit from Joel’s successful experience in local government which enables him to assist with property issues related to government regulation and zoning. For eight years Joel Crosby served on the Spokane City Council and numerous boards and commissions related to the City of Spokane. He retired from the City Council at the end of 1993. Among his accomplishments on the Council were the strengthening of Law Enforcement including the establishment of the Police Review Board and preserving the view of the Spokane River from the Spokane Downtown Library.


Joel is a graduate of the University of Washington earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and has a Masters Degree from Princeton Seminary.

Currently president of the Inland Empire Backcountry Horsemen, Joel rides and horse packs in the mountains of Washington, Idaho and Montana during summers. Winter recreation is focused upon skiing. The quality of life and economic vitality of the Inland Northwest is a precious gift which we must work vigorously to nurture and preserve.
